Has anyone heard anything more about the possible licensing of surveillance operators in the UK?

Another money making scheme for the Government.. it's bound to happen at some point!

At the moment, as far as the SIA are concerned, surveillance operators come under the banner of Private Investigators.

Licensing was to to come in for PI's during 2011 but this has been put on the back burner since the new government took charge (or otherwise).

I doubt very much this licensing will actually come into effect until 2013 at the earliest (if it happens). I would say keep an eye out on the Association of British INvestigators website, as they are likely to know first... They'll probably know beofer the SIA does!
