Security Guarding
SIA antics..
Whatever you do don't forget to tell the SIA if you move house.. you might be given an official warning.
See below from their latest news updates -
SIA investigators executed a four-day compliance test across Scotland’s central belt: Perth, Dunfermline, Edinburgh and Glasgow. During the inspections 13 premises were visited including shopping centres, high streets, and leisure and retail parks. A total of 63 security guards and CCTV operators were inspected and 85 licences were checked (some individuals held dual licences). All licences were valid; however, five operatives were warned for failing to notify us of a change of address and one individual was warned for failing to display their licence whilst on duty.
In Muswell Hill, the Metropolitan Police, SIA investigators and Haringey Council enforcement officers targeted licensed premises and fast food restaurants, as the police had previously detected some non-compliance within the security guarding sector. All door staff and security guards inspected held valid SIA licences but enquiries are being made regarding two individuals who failed to notify us of their change of address.
They've also been inspecting training centres and apparently four had their licenses withdrawn for malpractice ie.. giving out certificates without the students sitting any exams!!
